I have another photograph that is from my trip to Florida this previous summer that resembles my two previous posts, but I figure I will save it for later and see what you all think of this portrait of one of my best friends, Tristan.

I greatly desire to get more into the portrait and people photography realm of things but this is the best I can do for now as far as models go.

Let me know what you think! Critiques and feedback on this one are much appreciated! Thanks!

I like his face.I think you should have crop the upper space - it's distracting on my opinion. Great shot!

The figure is done well but the background doesn't work or add to the photo. The towel shouldn't be there and the top of the background bisects his head. When shooting portraits the background is an essential element even if just not to be distracting.

I don't know about the rest of you guys but the shirt is the scene stealer. Great exposure. There's a saying, "Throw in the towel." But after reading the comments above there's a new saying, "Throw out the towel."

I guess I will try to explain this some more. Some friends and I went on a trip to Florida and this was a candid shot. The towel is in the shot because we were going swimming/diving. I don't think they are personally that distracting but I guess they do appear to pop out a little too much. Once again this is a very rough try at portraits, which I have never done before. Thanks for all the comments thus far, it's really helped out.
